Our Story Throughout the Years

It has been 7 long years together (over eight by the time we get married!). Two and a half years in California, two and a half years of long distance, and then the last 2 and a half years have been in Texas. This photo is from Senior Prom. Who would have thought when we went to prom in high school with different dates (we were in denial) that we would be here years later?

Year 1

At the end of Freshman year of college, we finally admitted that we liked each other and agreed to a first date. This is the selfie we took on that first hike together. We spent the summer together before Remy went back up to UC Davis for school.

Year 2

By year two, we were both going to Moorpark College and were continuing to date. We got our first taste of long distance when Ben went to Louisiana for the summer, but we definitely didn't realize how much long distance we would end up doing.

Year 3

By year three, Remy had started at Santa Clara University (in California), while Ben was studying at THE GREATEST UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD. We were doing long distance full-time and seeing each other about every two months and on lots of Facetimes. It might not have been the stereotypical college relationship, but we were having a great time!

Year 4

Our fourth year together started with Remy evacuating due to the COVID outbreak that had taken off in Santa Clara. She flew to Michigan, where she lived with Ben & his roommates during lockdown. While it was a scary time, it was fantastic for us to get to spend so much time together & to live together for the first time!

Year 5

In 2021, we both got jobs at Raytheon in Dallas, Texas. We both moved to Texas for the first time, got our first adult apartment together, and quickly adopted a chaotic little puppy, Isabella, to complete our little family.

Year 6

After so long of long distance (and "unprecedented times"), we finally got the opportunity to have a more normal relationship by living together and growing together. We made so many memories with the three of us.

Year 7

On May 13th 2023 (their 7 year anniversary), Ben did the unthinkable and proposed to Remy, with Izzy's (and John's) approval, of course. It was the happiest day of our lives, so far...

Year 8 and Beyond

Year 8 has not started just yet, but the future is bright. Remy, Izzy and Ben are living happily ever after, soaking in this time being engaged, and looking forward to making our little family official!
